Catterpillar for id
This picture was sent in from Littleton a catterpillar crossing the road ,its name escapes me at the moment anybody know ?
Hairy molly is what we always called them too!,I don"t think its a Tortoise shell as they are not as hairy, and its a little late for the catterpillers .I was looking at this site http://ukmoths.org.uk/show.php?id=3626 and was thinking of the White Ermine moth, lots of which were around in June/July.
Is this a "hairy molly" caterpillar for the small tortoiseshell butterfly? Not sure . . . .
